For the past year or so, I have been seeing positive changes in my life due to the shadow work I have been doing. It's so important that we heal from childhood wounds and ancestral baggage. We think we know our faults until we start to put the work in and realize situations or circumstances that we never thought about are actually at the root cause of some of our not-so-positive behaviors and limiting beliefs. I encourage you to grab a journal or create one on your mobile device and start writing down your triggers as they happen. What emotion did that trigger invoke in you?
When you are clear-minded, go back into said trigger and list reasons why you think that event made you feel that way. Do you think the other person involved meant to make you feel that way? Was that their true intentions? If not, what do you think they were trying to accomplish? Is there something from their past that influences how they carry out their objective? At the end of each exercise, you should start to realize a pattern of preconceived beliefs that we unnecessarily add to our interactions with others. We tend to react based on our past experiences instead of what's happening in the present moment. The more we understand why we react the way we do to these stressors, the more we can learn to change this behavior. Remember this exercise isn't about who is wrong or right, but rather about our behavior and healing from wounds preventing us from happiness. Many Blessings, Comments are closed.
