Quick Inspiration: Wake Up, Your Guides Are Calling...

​The strangest thing happened to me early this morning. Despite all my years of experience, I still find myself surprised by my spiritual encounters. Spirit continues to amaze me with the lengths they go to in order to get my attention.

I was awakened early this morning by a repetitive tapping on my pillow. It sounded like someone was flicking my pillow on purpose. If I had siblings and were a teenager, I would have sworn my annoying little brother was messing with me. I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep, but the persistence of the sound kept me awake. I sprang out of bed and quickly scanned my surroundings to ensure it wasn’t one of my dogs, but they were both sound asleep in their beds across the room. There was nothing near me that could have made that noise on my pillow. 

I glanced over at the clock and laughed. When Spirit tries to get my attention or validate something for me, they often show me the numbers 34 or 43. The time was 4:43 AM. Thanks, Spirit, but couldn’t this have waited until a more reasonable hour, like 9:43 AM? Well, I was awake now, and the sound had stopped, so I decided to head to the bathroom. 

​When I returned, I had a strong feeling that I needed to check my phone and that was the real reason Spirit woke me up. I grabbed my cell phone and looked at my emails. The first email I saw was titled “33 Signs From Your Spirit Guides.” I laughed and thought they should add “finger-flicking pillows” to that list. 😒😄

The relevance of all of this is that I am currently writing two blog posts about Spirit Guides and my guides were trying to assist me with them. They understand that part of my life purpose is to teach the next generations of spiritual warriors what I've learned on my journey. My guides also know that the best time for communication with the living is between 3 and 5 a.m. It never fails—when they have something important to tell me, they wake me up during this time when the veil is thinnest. 

You might think I would forget their message or dismiss it as a dream, but I always remember these interactions, and they know that. This is why they continue to reach out during these hours. Spirit understands that during the busy hours of our days, we can easily forget their messages or be closed off to receiving them because we are at work, taking care of our families, or running errands. Our guides are wise and know us better than we know ourselves. They are aware of what we need, when we need it, and how to communicate these messages effectively. 

Next time you feel a strange urge to wake up in the middle of the night, pay attention. It could be your guides calling.
