Heads Up, Your Intuition Is Speaking...

Have you ever felt a quiet nudge in your mind or heart — a warning or a feeling you just couldn’t ignore? Sometimes our intuition speaks louder than we realize, and if we listen closely, it can protect us and those we love in ways we never expected.

For the past few days, I kept noticing the longer patches of grass in my yard and asking myself, When are the landscapers coming? But alongside that thought, a quiet inner voice kept whispering: Be cautious of ticks.

​At first, I brushed it off. Then last night, I was watching an episode of The Why Files about Plum Island. They discussed how ticks were allegedly used in biological warfare and how Lyme disease originated in Old Lyme, Connecticut. As the show displayed ticks on screen, I felt physically unsettled — almost as if my intuition was trying to get my attention.

This morning, I took my dogs, Lexi and Logan, outside. That same uneasy feeling returned, so I kept them on the shorter grass. When I called Lexi over and rubbed her head — something I always do — I felt something near her eye. At first, I thought it was dirt, but it wasn’t. It was a tick.

I quickly grabbed tweezers and removed it, which was challenging given the location. Her eye area was swollen, but thankfully, I caught it early. Logan was fine, and Lexi is okay now — but the experience left me shaken.

The surreal part? I realized I had been receiving warnings in advance. That quiet inner voice had been speaking to me all along — through my thoughts, feelings, and even the TV show I happened to watch the night before.

This experience reminded me of a profound truth: our intuition and spiritual guidance are always trying to protect us. Too often, we ignore these messages until it’s too late. Whether you call it intuition, spirit, or divine guidance, it’s there for a reason.

I’m incredibly grateful that I listened this time. Trusting that inner voice may have prevented something far worse from happening to Lexi. Every time I honor these messages, I feel more aligned, peaceful, and thankful for the guidance I receive.
